The whole trick is the moment you press jump. Too early and you cancel the climb, too late and you have already stood up.

Move into a ledge or window frame and let the climb begin.
Watch the end
Wait for the last part of the climb, just before your character would stand up straight.
Jump on time
Press jump in that short window to leave the ledge in the air instead of on your feet.
Chain it
Use the extra height or speed to reach the next ledge, a slide, or a better angle on the fight.
