Valorant aim tipsto aim better and hit more headshots.
Better aim in Valorant starts before the fight: where your crosshair already is, and whether you have stopped when you click. Six habits, the right sensitivity and a daily warm-up will get you there — and Valorant AI is the shortcut.
Crosshair placement, first-bullet accuracy and sensitivity, in plain steps.
Watch it track a strafing agent.
Valorant AI works from the game image: it finds the agent, moves your aim onto it and stays with it through every strafe. A crosshair moved by hand falls behind on each change of direction.
Six habits behind good aim.
Most missed shots in Valorant are lost before the click. These habits fix the setup, so your hand only has to make small, easy moves.
Keep your crosshair where heads appear, even while you walk. When someone peeks, you only need a small move to the side, not a flick up and across.
Before you clear a corner, put your crosshair on the spot an enemy is most likely to stand. Then move out. Your aim is there before they are.
When you stand still, the first bullet goes where your crosshair is. Put it on the head first, then click. Don't fire and hope to fix it later.
Moving shots spread. Tap the opposite key to stop, then fire. Our movement guide shows how it works.
Tap at long range, burst at mid range and spray up close. The table below shows why each one works where it does.
Look at the enemy, not at your crosshair. A small, clear crosshair keeps the head visible while you shoot.
How to shoot at each range.
Rifles in Valorant are precise for the first few bullets, then they climb. How long you hold the trigger should depend on how far away the enemy is.
| Distance | How to shoot | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Long range | Tap: one bullet, then a short pause | Only the first bullet is precise that far. The pause lets the gun settle. |
| Mid range | Burst: two to four bullets | The first few bullets stay close. Stop before the spray climbs over the head. |
| Close range | Spray, and pull down as it climbs | Up close, even a climbing spray still hits the body and the head. |
| Close, on the move | Use a shotgun or an SMG | They keep more accuracy while moving than rifles do. |
The Vandal kills with one headshot at any range. The Phantom is easier to spray but loses damage far away.
Our spray control guide shows how the Vandal and Phantom kick, and how to keep a long spray on target.
Sensitivity and eDPI, the simple version.
There is no magic number. You want a sensitivity low enough for small, steady corrections, and high enough to turn around without running out of mousepad.
What is eDPI?
eDPI is your mouse DPI multiplied by your in-game sensitivity. It puts both settings into one number, so you can compare your aim speed with anyone else's.
- 280400 × 0.7
- 280800 × 0.35
- 2801600 × 0.175
All three feel the same. They turn you the same distance for the same hand movement.
Where to start
Most pro players sit roughly between 200 and 400 eDPI. Around 280 is a good place to start. From there, change it in small steps.
| eDPI | Full turn | Feel |
|---|---|---|
| 200 | ≈ 65 cm | Slow and steady |
| 280 | ≈ 47 cm | A common middle |
| 400 | ≈ 33 cm | Fast turns |
Full turn is how far you move your mouse to turn all the way around (360°).
Coming from CS2 or Apex? At the same DPI, divide your sensitivity by 3.18. For example, 1.2 there is about 0.38 in Valorant.
Our eDPI guide explains how to work out your number and how to choose a sensitivity that fits your aim.
A short warm-up before you queue.
Cold hands miss easy shots. A short routine before your first match wakes up your habits, not just your wrist.
Bots in the Range
About 5 minutes. Shoot bots in the Range, first standing still, then strafing and stopping before each shot.
Aim trainer
5 to 10 minutes in an aim trainer: one clicking task and one tracking task, at the same sensitivity as in Valorant.
Spray check
A few minutes spraying a wall with the Vandal and the Phantom, then some short bursts at long range.
One Deathmatch
Think only about crosshair placement and stopping before you shoot. Ignore the score: the habits are what count.
Our aim trainer guide explains how to train for Valorant aim outside the game.
Six aim mistakes, and the fix.
If your aim feels worse than it should, one of these is usually the reason. Each one has a simple fix.
| Mistake | What happens | The fix |
|---|---|---|
| Crosshair aimed at the floor | Every fight starts with a flick up, which is slow and shaky | Keep it at head height, all the time |
| Shooting while moving | Bullets spread wide, even when your aim was right | Stop, then shoot |
| Holding the spray at long range | The bullets climb over the head | Tap or burst, then let the gun settle |
| Sensitivity too high | Small corrections turn into big jumps | Lower your eDPI a step and give it a week |
| Changing settings every day | Your hand never gets used to one speed | Pick a setup and keep it for a few weeks |
| Skipping the warm-up | You lose the first fights of the day | Do a short routine before your first match |

Questions
How do I aim better in Valorant?
Keep your crosshair at head height, pre-aim the corners you clear, and stop before you shoot. Then tap, burst or spray depending on the range, and warm up before you play. Small habits beat big flicks.
How do I hit more headshots in Valorant?
Most headshots come from crosshair placement, not fast flicks. Keep your crosshair where heads appear, make the first bullet count, and tap instead of spraying at long range.
What is a good sensitivity for Valorant?
Most pro players sit roughly between 200 and 400 eDPI, which is DPI multiplied by in-game sensitivity. Around 280 is a good start, for example 800 DPI at 0.35. Switching from another game? Use our sensitivity converter.
How long should I warm up before playing?
About 15 to 20 minutes is enough for most players: bots in the Range, a few minutes in an aim trainer, a quick spray check and one Deathmatch.
Do aim trainers help for Valorant?
Yes, for clicking, tracking and control. Crosshair placement and stopping before you shoot are learned in real games, so use both. Keep the same sensitivity in the trainer as in Valorant.
Does Valorant have aim assist on PC?
No. On PC, Valorant has no built-in aim assist. Valorant AI adds AI aim assist that works from the game image.
Will I get banned for using Valorant AI?
Valorant AI never touches the game's memory or files. It works entirely from the game image, as its own app outside the game.
To date, no customer has reported a ban.
